Calvin Gerus
Founder · leads every engagement
Calvin Gerus has spent more than 12 years building AI products, and he still does the hands-on work himself. He started as an electrical engineer at General Dynamics and AltaLink, then moved into data and product, building big data platforms and data products at Autodesk and working on predictive analytics and deep learning products at Allocadia and ForeSee. Most recently he has led AI research and development product teams, helping a large AI lab move from fundamental research to applied AI, building foundation models for large enterprises, and shipping custom models and AI-native products.
Alongside Kyoko, Calvin co-founded The Pearl, a consumer AI app built to coach people rather than just agree with them, and is a fractional CTO at WAAi, a real estate development AI platform, where he leads the team building its agent systems.
He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a biomedical specialization from the University of Calgary and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School. He lives in Victoria, BC.
What I’ll actually do with your team: spend the first week learning how work really moves through it, pick the two or three places where AI will make the biggest difference, and build them with you, not for you.
